How the Active Ingredients Work
A body emulsion carrying the same Centella basis as our face range, dosed for the larger application area and the cost structure a 300–500ml format has to hit. Levels below are stated on the extract basis and are our standard ODM baseline, adjustable for your target market and price point.
Centella Asiatica Extractbaseline 2% · range 1–3% (extract basis)
INCI: Centella Asiatica Extract, dosed on the as-supplied basis. The working range is 1–3%, the same as our face cream, and at 300–500ml per bottle the extract load is a real line on the cost sheet. Added below 40°C in the cool-down phase. Centella Asiatica extract is not restricted under the EU Cosmetic Regulation annexes or the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive; the CIR record documents reported use levels rather than setting a cap, so the working level is a formulation and cost decision, not a regulatory ceiling.
Standardised Centella Glycosides (Asiaticoside / Madecassoside)0.05–0.3% (90% assay basis), per supplier TDS
A titrated powder carried alongside the extract so a body SKU can name asiaticoside or madecassoside on the front of pack to match a face product. The working range is 0.05–0.3% on a 90% assay basis, confirmed against the supplier TDS for the lot. Grades run from 80% total glycosides to 90% titrated purity. Centella comes in three different bases and they are not interchangeable on a spec sheet: a solvent extract, standardised glycoside powders, or TECA. Face and body quotes carry the same basis wording, which is what lets one claim review cover both.
Ceramidessupporting barrier lipids
Included to support the barrier on skin that is dry and frequently washed. Profile and level are set per project. In a body format the level is usually a cost decision, since the surface area treated per application is many times that of a face cream.
Panthenolsupporting skin conditioner
Provitamin B5, a well-tolerated conditioning agent supporting comfort on irritated skin. At body-lotion volumes it is one of the more cost-efficient comfort ingredients available, which is why it carries more of the load here than in a face cream. Level is set per project.
Glycerinsupporting humectant
The workhorse humectant in this base, carrying most of the hydration story at a cost that works in a 500ml format. Level is set per project against how quickly you want the lotion to absorb. Pushed too high it turns tacky in humid weather, which is the main constraint in our Southeast Asian projects.
