Value Hero
Rose Bloom Natural Body Lotion
A 500ml value-hero body lotion built on a rose scent story, with shea butter and ceramides carrying the skin-feel and a moderate humectant load keeping it comfortable in humid climates. At this size and price the decisions that matter are the rose material grade and the shea ratio, since those set both the perceived quality and the landed cost. The rose here is a sensory and marketing asset rather than a treatment active, and we would rather say so plainly than dress it up as one.

Key Active Ingredients
How the Active Ingredients Work
Levels below are our standard ODM starting point, expressed as a share of the total formula on an as-supplied basis, and adjustable for your target market and price point.
Rose Water / Rose Extractrose water in the water phase; extract grade set per brief
The reason the product sells, and it works through scent and story rather than through a measurable skin effect. Rose water can make up a meaningful share of the water phase, which is the honest way to build a rose claim; rose extract is the option where you want it named higher in the INCI list. Both are available and the choice is mostly about label position and cost, not performance. We support a pleasant sensory experience and a light hydrating feel. We will not write that rose tightens pores, balances oil or repairs skin, because those claims are not supported for the material at cosmetic levels and buyers who resell into regulated markets end up carrying the risk.
Shea Butter (moderate load)moderate load in the oil phase
Deliberately moderate rather than maximised. Shea is what makes a body lotion feel worth its price on first application, but at a high load it leaves a film that stops people reapplying, and a 500ml bottle only earns its economics if the customer finishes it. Our default is set to absorb within a minute or so on warm skin, which suits the Southeast Asian channels this size is aimed at. This is the single most useful lever if your market prefers a richer or a lighter finish, and we would settle it with samples rather than in a spec sheet.
Ceramides with Glycerinceramide blend plus glycerin as the humectant base
The pair doing the actual skin work behind the scent. Ceramides support the barrier claim and glycerin is the workhorse humectant that keeps a large-format lotion pleasant in humid heat. Glycerin is cheap enough to use at a functional level, which is why we would rather spend there than on a token amount of an expensive active nobody can feel. Supportable wording is helping to strengthen the look and feel of the skin barrier, and we keep it there rather than at barrier repair, which is a medical framing.
Hyaluronic acidrange 0.1–0.5% total sodium hyaluronate
Assist tier and high molecular weight by default, which is the right choice for a body product: contact time is short, the skin is thicker, and low molecular weight fractions bring cost without a benefit anyone notices. Capped at 0.5% total because above that a body lotion turns tacky in humid weather, and stickiness is the fastest way to lose repeat purchase on a 500ml bottle.
Vitamin E (Tocopherol)tocopherol in the oil phase
Primarily protecting the oil phase over shelf life, which matters more than usual here because shea and a rose fragrance both oxidise in ways customers notice as an off smell. Calling it an antioxidant skincare active in a body lotion would be overstating a stability function, so we describe it for what it does in the formula.
Formulation & Customization Options
| Rose material grade | Rose water in the water phase as the standard build, or rose extract where a higher INCI position is wanted; rose absolute available for a premium tier at a step up in cost |
| Richness | Shea ratio sets the profile — lighter for humid year-round markets, richer for cooler or drier channels |
| Adjustable elements | Ceramide load; glycerin level; hyaluronic acid within 0.1–0.5%; optional niacinamide addition if a brightening angle is wanted |
| Fragrance | Rose accord at 0.5–2% with baseline 1% for a retained product; the level is a scent-strength decision rather than a regulatory one, and heavier is not automatically better on a body lotion |
| Pack | Pearlescent or matte pump bottle at 500ml as standard; 300ml available where shelf space or first-purchase price is the constraint |
Who This Product Is Built For
Value-tier fragrant body lines
The 500ml format at a mass price point is what makes a body lotion a repeat-purchase item rather than a gift. If you also want a premium gift-box tier in the same range, the Fragrance Long-Lasting Softening Body Lotion sits above this with a stronger scent build.
Scent-led retail and e-commerce
Rose still outsells most single-note florals in Southeast Asian body care, and a recognisable scent does more for conversion at this price than an active claim would. Brands running several scents usually launch rose first and add variants once the format is proven.
Brands wanting a soothing companion SKU
A fragranced lotion and an unfragranced soothing one cover two different customers rather than competing. The Centella Soothing Body Lotion is the fragrance-free counterpart if your range needs a sensitive-skin option.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much rose is actually in it?
Rose water can make up a meaningful share of the water phase, and that is the honest way to build a rose product. What we will not do is quote a single headline percentage, because rose water, rose extract and rose absolute are completely different materials at completely different costs, and a number without the material grade attached is not comparable between suppliers. Tell us the label position and the target cost and we will tell you which build gets you there.
Can we claim rose has skincare benefits?
We support a pleasant sensory experience and a light hydrating feel, and the barrier claim is carried by the ceramides and glycerin rather than by the rose. Pore tightening, oil balancing and skin repair are not supported for rose materials at cosmetic levels, and in regulated markets an unsupported functional claim on a body lotion is an easy target. The scent is the selling point and it is a strong enough one on its own.
Will a 500ml bottle feel greasy in tropical weather?
That is exactly what the shea ratio controls, and our default is tuned for humid conditions rather than for a spec sheet. It should absorb within about a minute on warm skin. If your channel is cooler or drier we would push the ratio up. This is a samples conversation rather than a formulation constant, and it is worth spending a round on because finish is what drives repurchase at this size.
What is the MOQ and lead time?
MOQ is 2,000–3,000 bottles per SKU and lead time is 35–45 days after sample approval. Sampling runs 2–3 weeks. Running multiple scents in one order counts each scent as a separate SKU against the MOQ, since the fragrance is added at the compounding stage.
Can you match a specific rose fragrance we already sell?
Usually yes. Send the reference and we will work from it, or work from a description if you do not have a sample to send. Matching an existing accord is routine; the fragrance level itself sits at 0.5–2% with baseline 1% for a retained body product, which is the industry band for this format.
What certifications come with it?
Manufacturing is ISO 22716 and GMPC compliant, with SGS testing on request. Halal, COSMOS and Vegan are arranged per your target market rather than held as standing certifications on this formula, so tell us early if a specific one is required, because it constrains the shea and fragrance sourcing.
