Daily UV Body Lotion SPF30 PA+++

A daily-use body sunscreen at SPF30 PA+++, built for markets where uncovered arms and legs need protection year round rather than only on holiday. One thing to understand before briefing: a single sunscreen formula cannot be sold globally. Approved UV filters differ by market, so the filter system is selected against your destination list rather than taken off a shelf, and the SPF and PA figures come from in vivo testing on the finished formula. That is also why the lead time here is longer than a normal body lotion and why we do not publish filter percentages.

How the Active Ingredients Work

The system below is our standard ODM baseline, adjustable for your target market and price point. We do not publish individual UV filter percentages, for the reason set out in the first entry.

SPF30 PA+++ filter systemfilter selection confirmed per destination market — percentages not published

We deliberately do not list a filter breakdown, and the reason is regulatory rather than commercial secrecy. Approved UV filters and their permitted levels differ between the EU, ASEAN, the US, Japan and China, so no single filter combination is legal everywhere and any percentage we published would be wrong for some of your markets. What we commit to instead is the finished-product outcome: in vivo SPF and PA testing on the final formula, with reports issued in your brand name. Sunscreen is regulated as a drug in the US and as a special-use or functional cosmetic in several Asian markets, so registration is handled against your destination list before production.

Shea Butter (light load)light load in the oil phase

Kept lighter than in a standard body lotion, and that restraint is the point. A daily body sunscreen only works if people actually reapply it, and reapplication stops the moment the product feels heavy or leaves a film on the arms. There is a real tension here, since the oil phase carries the filter system and also determines how the product feels, so the shea load is one of the few places where formulation and compliance are pulling in different directions. We tune it toward wearability and settle it with samples.

Aloe Veraaloe in the water phase

Present for after-sun comfort and for the recognition it carries on a sun-care label in tropical markets. It is a supporting sensory ingredient rather than a functional active, and we describe it that way. Soothing and hydrating support is what we write; we do not claim it treats or repairs sun damage, which would be a medical claim and would sit badly next to a protection product where the whole message is prevention.

Glyceringlycerin as the humectant base

The workhorse humectant, used at a functional level. On a sunscreen it earns its place twice: it keeps the skin comfortable under a filter load that can feel drying, and a comfortable product is one people are willing to put on daily. Cheap enough to use properly, which is why we would rather spend here than on a token amount of a marketing active.

Vitamin E (Tocopherol)tocopherol in the oil phase

Protecting the oil phase over shelf life, which matters more on a sunscreen than on most products because the filter system and the oil phase both need to stay intact for the SPF claim to hold through to the end of shelf life. We describe it as a stability function rather than as an antioxidant skincare active, and we do not present it as adding to the protection factor.

Formulation & Customization Options

Filter systemSelected against your destination market list; organic, mineral or hybrid systems available, with the choice driven by the approved filter list for those markets rather than by preference
SPF and PA levelSPF30 PA+++ as standard; higher SPF is available but raises the filter load, which changes both the skin feel and the cost, and requires its own in vivo testing
TestingIn vivo SPF and PA testing on the finished formula, reports issued in your brand name; water resistance testing available as a separate claim
Adjustable elementsShea load for the finish; aloe and glycerin levels; optional niacinamide addition where a tone-evening angle is wanted alongside protection
PackPET pump bottle at 200ml or 300ml, with a sachet option — sachets work well for trial and for markets where a low unit price drives volume

Who This Product Is Built For

Tropical and year-round sun markets

Body sun protection in Southeast Asia is a daily category rather than a seasonal one, which makes a 200ml bottle a consumable rather than a once-a-summer purchase. The sachet option is worth considering for the same reason, since it lowers the trial barrier in price-sensitive channels.

Brands with a facial sun line already running

A body SKU is the natural extension once a facial sunscreen is selling, and the customer is already educated. Our facial range covers the same testing standard, so the claim language stays consistent across the line rather than needing two different sets of substantiation.

Ranges that need a protection step, not another moisturiser

Most body ranges are three moisturisers in different scents. A daily SPF gives a range a genuinely different function to sell, and it pairs naturally with an after-sun or soothing SKU such as the Centella Soothing Body Lotion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why will you not tell us the filter percentages?

Because a single filter formula cannot be legal across markets, so any percentage we published would be wrong somewhere on your destination list. Approved filters and their permitted levels differ between the EU, ASEAN, the US, Japan and China. What we commit to is the finished-product result: in vivo SPF and PA testing on the final formula, with reports in your brand name. The filter system itself is designed against your market list at the project stage, and that sequence protects you rather than us.

Can we sell the same formula in every market?

No, and this is the most important thing to plan around. Sunscreen is an OTC drug in the US, a special-use cosmetic in China and a functional cosmetic in Korea, with its own registration path in each. Even within cosmetic frameworks the approved filter lists differ. Practically, this means telling us the destination list before we start, so we can design the smallest number of formula variants that covers it rather than discovering the problem at registration.

Why is the lead time longer than your other body lotions?

Because in vivo SPF and PA testing sits on the critical path and runs on the finished formula, so it cannot start until the formula is locked. It is also why sunscreen sampling takes longer than a standard lotion. We would rather explain the reason than quote you a fast timeline and then miss it — the testing is what makes the number on your label defensible.

Will SPF30 be enough for our market?

For daily incidental exposure on arms and legs, SPF30 PA+++ is the level most markets treat as the daily standard, and it has a real practical advantage: the filter load is light enough that the product stays wearable, and a wearable sunscreen that gets reapplied outperforms a higher SPF that stays in the cupboard. If your positioning is outdoor or sport, higher SPF and water resistance are the right conversation, with the trade-off in feel and cost.

Can we claim it prevents dark spots or ageing?

We keep the claims at what the testing supports: protection against UVB and UVA at the tested SPF and PA levels, and helping reduce the appearance of sun-induced uneven tone over continued use. We do not write that it prevents ageing or treats existing pigmentation, since those move beyond what a protection claim substantiates. If a tone-evening angle matters to the positioning, adding niacinamide is the cleaner route and it carries its own supportable wording.

What is the MOQ and lead time?

MOQ is 2,000–3,000 bottles per SKU and lead time is 35–45 days after sample approval, with in vivo SPF and PA testing running separately and adding to the timeline before a claim can be printed. Sampling runs 2–3 weeks. Manufacturing is ISO 22716 and GMPC compliant, with SGS testing on request.
