Value Daily Commute

Daily Aqua Sunscreen SPF30

A daily SPF30 lotion for indoor work and short commutes, which is a different product from a beach sunscreen even when the filter chemistry overlaps. The design target here is a texture people will actually reapply on a working day, because an SPF30 that gets used twice beats an SPF50 that gets used once.

Key Active Ingredients

Chemical sunscreen filter blendHyaluronic acidGlycerinAloe Vera

How the Active Ingredients Work

Filter percentages are not published on this page. Sunscreen filters are regulated actives with market-specific permitted lists and maximum levels, so we specify the outcome instead: tested SPF30 with PA rating on the finished product, with the filter system selected from the permitted list for your registration market.

UV filter systemSPF30 tested on finished product

A chemical filter blend, chosen for a light sensory result at a moderate SPF target rather than for maximum protection. SPF30 is a deliberate positioning choice: it lets the formula stay thin enough for daily reapplication, which is the behaviour that actually determines protection in practice. The blend is built against your destination market's permitted list, and SPF is confirmed by in vivo testing on the finished product before the number goes on pack.

Hyaluronic Acidsupporting humectant

INCI: Sodium Hyaluronate. Included as a humectant, with the level set per project rather than published here. Sunscreen sits across product categories for hyaluronic acid use levels, so we set it against the finish and the filter system on an approved sample instead of quoting a band that belongs to a serum or a cream. Its job here is to make a daytime product comfortable enough to be reapplied, not to carry a hydration claim.

Glycerinsupporting humectant

INCI: Glycerin. The workhorse humectant of the formula, and the reason the lotion spreads without dragging. In a market where a greasy daytime product gets abandoned within a week, the humectant and emollient balance matters more commercially than any added active. Level is set against the finish you want and confirmed on sample.

Aloe Verasupporting botanical

INCI: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice. Carries the soothing story the category is normally sold on in Southeast Asia, where sun exposure is year-round rather than seasonal. Kept as a supporting ingredient with the level set per project, and described in terms of comfort on application rather than as a treatment for sun-exposed skin.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is SPF30 enough, or should we go to SPF50?

It depends on the use occasion you are selling to, not on which number looks better. For indoor work and short commutes, SPF30 applied and reapplied properly outperforms an SPF50 that feels heavy enough to be skipped. For outdoor or water exposure, go higher and use a water-resistant base instead. Many brands run both and let the occasion decide, which is how we would structure the range.

Why don't you list the sunscreen filter percentages?

Because filters are regulated actives with different permitted lists and maximum levels in each market, so a percentage without its regulatory context is misleading rather than transparent. It also implies the same formula ships everywhere, which is not true of sunscreen. We state the tested SPF and PA on the finished product, and the full quantitative breakdown goes into your registration file.

Can we sell the same formula in the EU, Japan and the US?

Not as a single formula. Sunscreen is regulated as an OTC drug in the US, a quasi-drug in Japan, and a cosmetic with a restricted filter annex in the EU, and the permitted filters differ across all three. The practical route is one lead formula for your primary market, then adapted filter systems for the others. We will tell you at the briefing stage which markets can share a build and which cannot.

How long does sunscreen development actually take?

45–60 days for this category, and the extra time over our skincare lines is stability testing plus in vivo SPF and PA testing. Those tests run on the finished formula, so they cannot start until the formula is locked, and they are not compressible. If you have a launch date, work backwards from the test window rather than from the production window.

What are the MOQ and lead time?

MOQ is 2,000–3,000 bottles per SKU and lead time is 45–60 days including stability and SPF testing. Sampling happens ahead of that. Once the formula is registered and locked, repeat orders run on our normal production schedule across 13 lines at 200,000 units per day.
