Niacinamidebaseline 3% · range 2–5%
The main active and the one carrying the visible-shine and skin-tone story. Baseline 3% sits in the hero tier, which is where niacinamide stops being a label ingredient and starts being the reason the formula works. We use high-purity material, since the flushing complaints usually blamed on high niacinamide are more often a nicotinic acid impurity problem than a dose problem. Korea caps niacinamide at 5% in its functional-cosmetic framework, so the range top is set there rather than higher. Supportable wording is reducing the look of shine and helping even the look of skin tone.
Salicylic Acid (BHA)level set by destination market cap — no house baseline published
This is the ingredient where a single number would be actively misleading, so we publish the caps instead. What does inclusive of any use mean for our formula?
It means the EU limit counts salicylic acid used as a preservative and salicylic acid used for its functional effect together, not separately. So you cannot add 0.5% for effect and another portion as a preservative and treat them as two allowances. It matters in practice because it constrains the preservative system design, and it is the detail most briefs miss.
Can we call it a back acne treatment?
No, and we would decline that brief. Acne is a drug claim: in the US, salicylic acid plus an acne claim puts the product under the OTC monograph at 21 CFR 333.310 with Drug Facts labelling, and in China it requires efficacy filing. Our copy stays at daily care for oil-prone skin, reducing the look of shine, and helping keep the skin on the back and chest feeling clear. That wording ships everywhere; the stronger version reclassifies the product.
Is tea tree oil safe over such a large area?
At the level we use it, yes, and the level is chosen precisely because of the area.
