Minimal Micellar Surfactant Systemminimal cleansing system
Surfactant level is set at the lower bound of what still removes light makeup and sunscreen. This is the central decision in the formula: on a compromised barrier the surfactant is the ingredient most likely to cause a reaction, so removal power is traded away on purpose. It follows that this product will not handle heavy or waterproof makeup, and we would rather state that than sell it as an all-rounder.
Ceramidesbarrier lipid, grade and loading per project
Ceramides are part of the skin's own barrier lipid structure, so including them in a cleansing step targets the specific complaint that reactive skin has with cleansing: it removes lipids along with makeup. Why does it not remove heavy makeup?
Because the surfactant level is intentionally low. Removal power and mildness pull in opposite directions, and this formula is set at the mild end. Brands serving both needs usually run this SKU alongside a cleansing oil or a reinforced micellar water rather than asking one product to do both.
Can you make it without ceramides to lower the cost?
Yes, and it is a legitimate route for a mid-price version. What you give up is the barrier-support element of the story, which for a premium sensitive-skin position is usually the part worth paying for. We can quote both so the trade-off is visible in numbers.
