A leave-on acid toner is the format where regulation drives the formula hardest, because the acids that do the work also carry the tightest caps and the most market-by-market variation. Rather than publish concentrations, the notes below describe what each acid does and where the legal ceiling sits; we formulate below the cap and confirm the levels against your destination market before sampling.
AHA (Glycolic / Lactic Acid)set within destination-market limits
Alpha-hydroxy acids work on the skin surface, loosening the bond between dead surface cells so texture and dullness improve. Glycolic is the smaller, faster-acting molecule; lactic is gentler and more hydrating, which is why a blend is common in an entry-level product. AHAs are the acid class facing the most active regulatory change, so a fixed number on a public page would date quickly — the level is set against your target market at formulation.
BHA (Salicylic Acid)low level, within leave-on limits
An oil-soluble beta-hydroxy acid that works inside the pore rather than only on the surface, which is why it targets congestion. Its cap is specific: in the EU, Annex III entry 98 of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 sets 2.0% for most leave-on and rinse-off products under the general ‘other products’ category, with a mandatory not-for-children-under-3 restriction. Why do you not list the acid percentages?
Because they are set by your destination market, not by us. Salicylic acid has a specific EU cap and, in the United States, an anti-acne claim moves it into OTC-drug territory; AHAs are the acid class under the most active regulatory revision right now. A single published number would be wrong for some of your markets. Tell us where you are selling and we confirm the levels for your project.
Can this be used daily?
That is what the PHA and the soothing system are for — a daily-tolerable version is one of the two strength tiers we build from this base. Whether daily use is the right claim depends on the acid levels your market permits, so the schedule and the formula are decided together.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
A gentler tier is available, weighted toward PHA with centella and panthenol for tolerability. We would still not position an acid toner as suitable for reactive or compromised skin, and we flag that wording at the quoting stage so your claims match the formula.
Is it certified for export?
