How the Active Ingredients Work
We publish tested SPF and water-resistance results rather than filter percentages, because filters are market-regulated actives and water resistance is itself a tested, regulated claim. The filter system is built against your destination market's permitted list, and both SPF and water resistance are confirmed on the finished product.
UV filter system SPF50 tested on finished product
A high-SPF chemical filter blend, selected for outdoor and water exposure. As with all our sunscreens the blend is built against the permitted filter list of the market you register in, not carried over as a single global formula, and SPF is confirmed by in vivo testing on the finished product. The number on pack is the tested number.
Water-resistant film system system note
This is what separates a sport sunscreen from a daily one. Film formers keep the filter layer in place through sweat and immersion, and water resistance is a claim with a defined test: 40 minutes or 80 minutes of water contact, retested for SPF afterwards. You can only claim the level you test to, and there is no such thing as waterproof in most markets, only water resistant to a stated time. We build to your target time and test to confirm it.
Vitamin E supporting antioxidant
INCI: Tocopherol. Included as a formula antioxidant that also supports the skincare story on an outdoor product. Level set per project. We describe it as an antioxidant ingredient rather than attaching an after-sun repair claim to it, which would move the product toward a different regulatory route.
Aloe Vera (trace) supporting botanical
INCI: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, at a supporting trace level in this format because a water-resistant film and a high water-phase botanical load pull against each other. It carries the soothing story the category expects without compromising the film. Level set per project and confirmed on sample.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can we call this waterproof?
In most markets, no. The regulated claim is water resistant to a stated time, either 40 or 80 minutes, verified by testing SPF after that period of water contact. Waterproof and sweatproof are not permitted claims in the US, EU or most of ASEAN because no sunscreen lasts indefinitely in water. We build and test to a specific water-resistance time and label it exactly as tested.
How is water resistance actually verified?
By a defined test: the finished product's SPF is measured, then remeasured after the claimed period of water immersion, and the product must still meet its SPF to hold the claim. We test to your target time, 40 or 80 minutes, on the finished formula. This runs alongside the standard in vivo SPF test, which is part of why sun care lead times are longer than skincare.
Why not just publish the filter percentages for an outdoor product?
Same reason as the rest of the range: filters are regulated actives with market-specific permitted lists and maximum levels, and water resistance is a separately tested claim. A percentage on its own is not transparent, it is missing its regulatory context. We give you the tested SPF and the tested water-resistance time on the finished product, and the full breakdown goes into your registration dossier.
Does a water-resistant film feel heavy on skin?
It is heavier than a daily lotion by necessity, because the film is what delivers the claim, but the sensory target is still a wearable outdoor product rather than a greasy one. Where the customer applies it matters: this is a body-and-face outdoor product, not a daily under-makeup one. We would size the film system to your use occasion and confirm the feel on sample.
What are the MOQ and lead time?
MOQ is 3,000 bottles per SKU and lead time is 45–60 days, including stability, in vivo SPF and water-resistance testing. The water-resistance test adds to the timeline over a standard sunscreen. Production then runs across 13 lines at 200,000 units per day.
