Beauty Ginseng Brightening Sheet Mask

A premium-tier brightening and revitalising sheet mask built around ginseng extract, with niacinamide carrying the brightening claim. The design brief for this position is specific: the buyer is not selling basic hydration, they are selling the look of skin that has recovered from a bad week, so the serum has to deliver visible radiance in a ten-minute wear and still read as substantial rather than watery. Manufactured under ISO 22716 for brands selling into Southeast Asia, where late nights and air-conditioned offices are the dominant use case rather than seasonal dryness. Levels below are our standard ODM baseline, adjustable for your target market and price point.

How the Active Ingredients Work

Five parts do the work: niacinamide as the brightening active, ginseng extract as the story and the antioxidant load, peptides for the firmness claim, ceramides for barrier feel, and a hyaluronic acid complex for the plumped finish. Levels below are our standard ODM starting point, adjustable for your target market and price point.

Niacinamidebaseline 2% · range 2–4%

Vitamin B3, and the ingredient actually carrying the brightening claim on this mask. We run it in the main tier because on a premium hero SKU the brightening story cannot rest on an extract alone. Mechanism is worth stating plainly: niacinamide interferes with the transfer of pigment from melanocytes to the surrounding skin cells rather than blocking pigment formation, which is why the visible change is gradual and shows as a more even overall tone rather than a spot disappearing. Korea caps niacinamide at 5% in functional cosmetics, so the top of our range is set to keep a single formula exportable across the region. Added in the cool-down phase, and the serum is held above pH 5.0 because niacinamide hydrolyses toward nicotinic acid in acidic conditions, which is a flushing risk rather than a stability curiosity.

Panax Ginseng Root Extractextract, level set by grade and target cost

The positioning ingredient. Ginseng carries genuine antioxidant activity from its ginsenoside content, and it is also the reason this SKU can be sold as a heritage-and-vitality story in markets where that narrative outperforms a purely clinical one. What we will not write is that it reverses ageing or restores cell function: the defensible claim is antioxidant support and the appearance of revived, less tired-looking skin. Extract grade varies widely between suppliers, and ginsenoside content is where the cost sits, so the grade is a commercial decision we quote against your target price rather than a fixed specification.

Peptide complexbaseline 1% · range 1–3%

Signal peptides such as acetyl hexapeptide-8 and palmitoyl tripeptide-1, used here for the firmness and fine-line appearance claim. On a ten-minute sheet mask the honest framing matters: peptides need repeated exposure over weeks to show anything, so the mask contributes to a routine rather than delivering a firmness result in one wear. We write it as supporting a firmer-looking appearance and never as building collagen, which crosses into a physiological claim in most of our markets. Heat-sensitive and added at cool-down with the niacinamide.

Ceramide complexbaseline 0.1% · range 0.05–0.5%

Ceramide NP with supporting fatty acids, included because dull, fatigued skin is usually skin with a compromised barrier rather than skin lacking pigment control. Ceramides are structural lipids the skin already uses, so what they buy on a mask is a smoother, less rough surface feel immediately and better water retention after the sheet comes off. Solubility is the technical constraint here, not cost: ceramides need a carrier system to stay dispersed in a mostly water serum, which is why the level is set by what the base can hold clear inside a foil sachet rather than by how much we would like to add.

Hyaluronic acid complex with panthenol0.1–0.5% total sodium hyaluronate

A multi-weight sodium hyaluronate blend with panthenol for the plumped, cushioned finish that a premium mask is judged on in the first thirty seconds. This is supporting cast rather than a functional active, and we describe it that way — the high molecular weight fraction sits on the surface and does not penetrate, so the value is the immediate look and the slip, not depth of hydration. Above roughly 0.5% total the serum turns stringy and the sheet becomes awkward to unfold, which customers read as a defect.

Formulation & Customization Options

Service modelODM (adjust our existing base) or full OEM custom development
Adjustable elementsNiacinamide level within 2–4%; ginseng extract grade and ginsenoside content; peptide and ceramide load; optional addition of a second brightening active
Target pHFormulated at pH 5.0–6.0 — held above 5.0 to keep niacinamide from hydrolysing toward nicotinic acid. Final target pH confirmed per project.
Sheet materialBiocellulose for the premium position (default on this SKU), Tencel for a lower cost per sheet
Serum fill25–30ml per sheet as our baseline. On a premium SKU we would not recommend reducing this — fill is the first thing reviewers notice
FragranceLight herbal or fragrance-free; a ginseng-forward scent profile is available and suits the heritage positioning
Certification supportHalal, COSMOS or vegan-suitable formulation can be configured to your target market requirements — note that ceramides here are synthetic and vegan-suitable, so the constraint is usually the extract solvent rather than the actives
PackagingIndividual matte or pearlescent aluminium-plastic composite pouch; box count is yours to set, with 5 and 10 our common runs

Who This Product Is Built For

Premium and gifting positions

The ginseng narrative supports a price point that a hydrating mask cannot, and the format gifts well in multi-sheet boxes. Brands wanting the same brightening direction at a volume price usually start from our Niacinamide Brightening Anti-Spot Mask instead.

The tired-skin use case

In Southeast Asian urban markets the dominant complaint is not seasonal dryness but dullness from late nights and air conditioning. This SKU is built for that occasion, which is also why it films well as a recovery ritual rather than a treatment.

Brands needing a defensible brightening claim

Because niacinamide runs at a main-tier level here, the brightening claim rests on a well-documented active rather than on the extract, which makes claim substantiation considerably easier than on an extract-only mask.

Brands building a brightening range

The same niacinamide logic runs through our Balancing Radiance Toner, and for a heavier brightening story the Glutathione Brightening Serum is the step-up product. A mask, toner and serum can be launched with one consistent ingredient narrative under one certified roof.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the MOQ and lead time?

Minimum is 5,000–10,000 sheets per SKU. The number to hold onto is that it is counted in sheets, not boxes — at 10 sheets per box that is 500–1,000 retail units, at 5 per box it is double that, for the same order. Production takes 45–55 days after sample approval, with 2–3 weeks for a custom sample round. Biocellulose sheet stock has a longer lead than Tencel, so if you want the premium material confirm it at the enquiry stage rather than after the sample.

How high can the niacinamide go?

Our range is 2–4% on a sheet mask and we would not push past it on this format. The ceiling is a regulatory one before it is a tolerance one: Korea caps niacinamide at 5% in functional cosmetics, so staying at or below 5% keeps a single formula exportable across the region rather than forcing a separate Korean batch. Within that range, higher is not automatically better on a mask — a ten-minute occlusive wear increases penetration compared with a leave-on serum, so tolerance is worth confirming at sampling with your own panel.

What does the ginseng actually contribute?

Antioxidant activity from its ginsenoside content, plus the positioning. We are direct about the split: the brightening claim rests on niacinamide, and ginseng supports it while carrying the story that lets you price this above a basic mask. Ginsenoside content varies substantially by extract grade and that is where the cost difference sits, so tell us your target price and we will quote the grade that fits rather than defaulting to the cheapest.

Can we claim it firms skin or reduces wrinkles?

Not in those words. Peptides need repeated use over weeks to show anything measurable, and a single ten-minute wear does not deliver a firmness result, so the defensible wording is that it supports a firmer-looking, smoother appearance as part of a routine. Wrinkle-reduction and collagen-building claims cross into physiological territory that is regulated differently market to market, treated as a functional cosmetic claim requiring registration in some. We agree the claim set with you before artwork.

Will the ceramides and peptides survive two years in a foil sachet in a hot market?

Accelerated stability testing on the finished formula is run before production, and this format is harder to stabilise than a plain hydrating mask, which is worth saying plainly. Ceramides need the carrier system to keep them dispersed and peptides degrade with prolonged heat, so both go in at cool-down and both are what the stability run is actually watching. The foil pouch blocks light and water loss, which a clear film cannot.

Is it certified for export?

We manufacture under ISO 22716 and GMPC, with SGS testing available on request, and we confirm ingredient compliance for your destination market before the first sample. Niacinamide is the item that drives the paperwork here — it is a listed functional whitening ingredient in Korea and Japan, which is an advantage rather than an obstacle since it gives the brightening claim a registered basis. Claim wording still needs agreeing per market before artwork.
