pH-Balanced Refreshing Body Wash

A skin-friendly pH body wash for hot, humid markets where people wash two or three times a day. That usage pattern is the whole brief: a formula that is fine once daily can leave skin tight and squeaky by the third wash, so this base is built around repeat washing rather than around a single impressive lather. The pH claim depends on picking a surfactant system that can actually hold the mildly acidic range, which is a formulation decision made at the base level rather than adjusted at the end. The system below is our standard ODM baseline, adjustable for your target market and price point.

How the Active Ingredients Work

Four parts do the work: a surfactant system chosen for where it can sit on pH, ceramides and aloe for after-feel, and glycerin holding the moisture balance. The system below is our standard ODM baseline, adjustable for your target market and price point.

Mild surfactant systemprimary cleansing system

Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate with Cocamidopropyl Betaine and a glucoside co-surfactant. This pairing is specified because it holds a mildly acidic finished pH comfortably, which is what makes the claim on this product a formulation fact rather than a marketing line. Soap-based systems cannot do this: soap has to sit around pH 9 to 10 simply to stay soluble, and that is where the tight after-feel comes from. Sulfate-free is the default here rather than an option.

Ceramidessupporting barrier lipids

Ceramides are structural lipids of the stratum corneum, included so that repeat washing has something left behind to offset it. Contact time in a rinse-off product is short by design, so we position them as a supporting contributor to the after-feel rather than a barrier repair treatment, and grade and loading are set per project against the finished feel.

Aloe verasupporting humectant and label ingredient

Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, working as a humectant and carrying recognition on the ingredient list, which matters in this category where the buying decision is often made from the pack. Level is set against the finished feel and the label story you want to lead with.

Glycerinhumectant

The workhorse of the formula on a product used two or three times a day, offsetting the moisture loss that any cleansing step causes. Used at a functional level rather than a token one, because the failure mode on a frequent-wash product is a tight, dry after-feel rather than poor cleaning.

Formulation & Customization Options

Service modelODM on our pH-balanced wash base, or full OEM development
Target pHFormulated in the mildly acidic range, well below the alkaline range soap-based systems are forced into. The final value is confirmed per project and written into your product specification so the claim is documented.
Adjustable elementsSurfactant ratio; ceramide grade and loading; aloe content; glycerin level; viscosity; fragrance-free version
FragranceLight fresh or clean profiles standard for this position; fragrance-free available and often the better fit where the claim is skin-friendliness
Packaging500ml pump bottle standard, with a 5–10ml sachet for trial; clinical or minimal print directions suit this position better than a decorative pack
CertificationsISO 22716, GMPC; SGS testing supported upon request. Halal, COSMOS and vegan-positioned formulations can be scoped to your requirement — tell us the destination market and certifying body and we will confirm feasibility before sampling. Ceramide sourcing is the item that decides whether a vegan route stays open, so raise it before the base is locked.

Who This Product Is Built For

Hot and humid market positioning

Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia all share a usage pattern of two or three washes a day, which changes what a good body wash has to do. A formula built for once-daily use in a temperate market will be described as drying here, and that is the complaint this base is designed against.

Skin-friendly and sensitive-adjacent ranges

The pH claim gives a functional reason to believe that does not require a treatment claim, which keeps the regulatory path simple. It sits a step below a dedicated sensitive-skin product without competing with one.

Brands building a full body range

Works as the everyday wash under a more targeted lotion. The Centella Soothing Body Lotion is the natural second step where the concern is comfort, and the Sensitive Skin Minimalist Body Wash covers the position above this one for customers who need fragrance-free.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the MOQ and lead time?

MOQ is 2,000–3,000 bottles per SKU, produced in 35–45 days once the sample is signed off, with 2–3 weeks for the sample round itself. A fragrance-free variant on the same base counts as a separate SKU against the minimum.

What does pH-balanced actually mean on a body wash?

That the finished product sits in the mildly acidic range rather than the alkaline range a soap-based wash is forced into. It is a real difference and it comes from the surfactant system, not from an additive: soap has to sit around pH 9 to 10 simply to stay soluble, which is one reason soap-based washes leave skin feeling tight. We specify the target range on your product specification so the claim is documented rather than assumed.

Can you tell us the exact pH?

On your specification, yes, once the formula is approved. On a public page we give the range rather than a single figure, because the final value is set against your fragrance, your actives and your preservative system, and locking a number before that work is done would be a commitment we cannot honour across every variant you might ask for.

Do the ceramides survive a rinse-off product?

Some deposition happens, and that is why they are in the formula, but we would not claim barrier repair from a wash. Contact time is short by design and most of the product goes down the drain. What ceramides realistically contribute here is a less stripped after-feel on skin that is being washed repeatedly, which is a claim we can support. If barrier repair is the goal, that work belongs in the lotion.

Can you make it fragrance-free?

Yes, and for this position it is often the better product. Fragrance is the most common trigger in a wash used several times a day on a large surface area, and removing it also shortens the ingredient list, which suits the skin-friendly claim. Note that fragrance-free is not the same as unscented: an unscented product can contain a masking fragrance, and we do not use one unless you ask for it.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

It is built for normal and mildly sensitive skin, which is a deliberate line rather than caution. For a dedicated sensitive-skin claim we would point you to our minimalist fragrance-free base, which cuts the ingredient list further. We will tell you which of the two fits your brief rather than stretching one to cover both.
