Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate paired with Cocamidopropyl Betaine. The point of this pair in a volumizing formula is rinse-out: it lifts sebum without leaving the substantive conditioning residue that flattens fine hair by mid-afternoon. Formulated near pH 5.0–5.5, the range at which the cuticle lies flattest, which also keeps strands from catching on each other and looking frizzy rather than full. Sulfate-free on request; the system can be shifted milder or more strongly cleansing depending on how oily your target consumer runs.
Plant glucosidessecondary surfactant system
Coco-Glucoside and Lauryl Glucoside, sugar-derived non-ionic surfactants that build foam density and improve the mildness profile of the primary pair. It does set a floor on formulation pH: below about pH 4.0 niacinamide hydrolyses to nicotinic acid, which can cause transient flushing, so our 5.0–5.5 target sits deliberately above that threshold and inside the window the surfactant system wants.

Can I adjust the formula?
Yes. The trade-off to understand on this particular base is that volume comes from leaving less residue on the strand, so if you ask us to add richer conditioning for a smoother comb-through, you are working against the volumising effect.
