This is a single-species essential oil supplied undiluted at 100%, not a blended massage oil. Cold-pressed grapefruit carries a real safety constraint that follows it into whatever you make, so the useful information here is the phototoxicity data and how the limits are calculated on your side.
Citrus Paradisi Peel Oil100%, undiluted
INCI: Citrus Paradisi Peel Oil. Cold-pressed from the peel rather than distilled, which is what preserves the bright top note and also what carries the furocoumarins across into the oil. Limonene makes up the bulk of the composition. Supplied as a single species with a lot-specific profile.
Phototoxicity and IFRA limitsrestriction applies to your finished product
The IFRA Standard for expressed grapefruit oil restricts it to 4.0% in a body product (Category 5A) because of phototoxic effects. That figure is a limit on a finished consumer product, not on the oil as supplied, so the calculation belongs to whoever formulates. One rule is easy to miss: where several furocoumarin-containing oils are used together, each expressed as a percentage of its own limit, the sum must not exceed 100. A 1% grapefruit load uses a quarter of that budget before any bergamot or lemon is added.

A furocoumarin-free grade is available and carries no phototoxicity restriction, which removes the sun-exposure constraint from your label and your formulation maths. The trade-off is a higher cost and a top note that is noticeably less vivid than the cold-pressed oil. Worth specifying if the end product is for daytime or beach use.
Storage and oxidationnot applicable
Citrus oils oxidise faster than any other group here, and oxidised limonene both smells flat and is the form linked to sensitisation. Supplied in amber glass with minimal headspace; cool storage and prompt use after opening matter more for this oil than for the woods and florals. No antioxidant is added, since that would make it a formulation.

How much can we use in a finished product?
For cold-pressed grapefruit oil the IFRA Standard sets 4.0% in a body product (Category 5A), driven by phototoxicity. That limit applies to your finished formula rather than to the oil we ship. If you also use bergamot, lemon, or bitter orange, the allowances combine: each oil expressed as a percentage of its own limit, summing to no more than 100. This is the calculation most briefs overlook.
Can we avoid the sun-exposure warning?
Use the FCF grade. Removing the furocoumarins removes the phototoxicity restriction, at a higher cost and with a less vivid top note. For a daytime or beach product that trade is usually worth making.
Is it diluted, and can you blend it for us?
Supplied at 100% with no carrier or additive. Contract blending into a finished massage or body oil is available as a separate quotation, in which case we run the IFRA calculation as part of the formulation work.
Can we claim it helps with body contouring or firming?
We do not supply that wording. Claims that a topical oil reduces body measurements or changes body composition are not supportable for a cosmetic and attract regulatory attention in most markets. Whatever you do claim has to comply with the advertising rules where you sell, and that assessment sits with you and your local assessor.
Why does the scent fade so quickly?
Grapefruit is a top note, chemically light and volatile, so it lifts at once and dissipates. That is the material behaving normally rather than a quality fault. Blenders usually pair it with a woody or herbal base to give the blend some persistence.
